PME 811 Journey - Introduction
Introduction Hey all, hope you are well. Welcome to my PME 811 journey blog! My name is Wayne Hoang and I am currently employed with the Vancouver School Board (VSB) as a high school Physical and Health Education teacher. Like many subjects in the high school curriculum, Physical and Health Education (PHE) class is constantly changing. Back in the days, students were graded on how fast they could run, how many pushups they could do and how good they were at sports. In today's world of PHE, we are more focused on personal growth in all aspects (i.e., mental health, physical health, physical activities), teamwork and leadership, participation and work rate and etc. Innovation is extremely important in PHE class because teachers must find creative ways to keep students active and engaged at all times.
